Auction on July 14th

Did you miss the banquet sign-up but still want to come to the auction? Not a problem! Chairs will be set up inside the banquet room approximately 30 minutes before the end of the banquet, so people may come in and get a seat before the auction begins. No need to feel uncomfortable or unwelcome—we are planning to have people come in for the auction only. Hope to see you there. Only 9 more days to Gettysburg!

Welcome to the National Picnic

Don't forget the "Welcome to the National" picnic on Monday July 9th hosted by the MABC at a member's farm in Gettysburg. Time: approximately 3:00 in the afternoon. Shade and chairs will be provided.  It's a potluck, so you may contribute something or we'd gladly accept a $5 donation. It's a great opportunity to see old friends again. Let us know if you plan to come at lbcranmer@juno.com.

Ring Area Set-Up

There have been several questions about the set up for the National.  I’ll try to give you a visual. If you go to http://www.eisenhower.com/resourcefiles/pdf/eisenhower-hotel-first-floor.pdf for a floor plan of the Eisenhower I, you’ll see that the Grand Ballroom consists of Longstreet Suites on one side, Ballroom in the middle and Grant, McClellan and Lee Suites on the other end. The Longstreet Suites and the Ballroom area in the middle will be open for the ring and spectator seating. The Lee and McClellan Suites will also be opened up to form a crating area.  Premium Grooming spaces (5’ by 5’) are in the first two rows of the crating area (they are sold out). Crating will begin behind Premium Grooming and go to the back of this area. PLEASE stack your crates to maximize the room. ). There will also be a paddock area for dogs waiting to show unless the space is required for crating. Overflow crating will be in part of one hallway outside the ballroom. I hope this helps explain the layout better for everyone.

Preliminary Entry Counts

Preliminary entries--Thank you all for your sweeps, conformation,  Obedience and Rally entries! The preliminary counts are up on  Rau's page http://www.raudogshows.com/pdfs/preliminary-counts/BasenjiCOA2012.pdf and show 297 individual dogs entered for 415 entries (not counting Rally) and another 38 Rally entries. Puppies and Veterans Sweeps have 108 preliminary count entries.

Crating

Are you staying off-site and worried about your dogs while you are at the show? We will be allowing crating in one hallway outside the ballroom for a nominal fee to pay for the floor covering. We will ask that crates be stacked so everyone's dogs can keep cool

This fun event includes a costume contest, a trick contest, rawhide relay, t-shirt race, best tailwagger, best yodeler, and prizes for curliest tail, least white, and oldest. It is a fun evening for anyone whether you are there to play in the classes or just to watch. We hope you'll join us in this variation of the traditional MABC festivities.

How do you become a NSB? It couldn’t be easier! Each person who supports the National will receive a “booster card” which can be used to bookmark your catalog, to lie on your chair as a seat saver, etc. You collect stickers for your card and at the banquet the cards with the most s...tickers will be gathered and one lucky booster will win a thank you prize!
A different sticker can be earned for each of the following:
